It’s not often that I grant an interview, and I this is the first time I have been interviewed as author and photographer, so I am grateful for the convergence of this dual identity. It’s no secret that I lead a double life as writer and photographer, throwing in author on top of it all, and I have tried my best to keep the two separate for the longest time. Eventually I came to the conclusion that both personalities are intrinsic parts of me, inseparable and defining.
Many authors will tell you that their inbox is full of offers to promote the book, and if you are a newbie to the industry, it can be incredibly easy to get carried away and say yes to everything. Sometimes the lessons can only be learned the hard way, and eventually you learn to filter out the scams and trolls who have nothing better to do than to fleece for your yet unearned royalties!
Every once in a while, however, there is a little golden nugget that crosses your path, that much-needed morale booster and exposure for the author / writer, which is more important than the book itself. People need to put a face to the book, to get to know the person behind the literary activist who advocates social justice in whatever way possible.
It is with great joy that I share an interview that was published today on Eat My News,
